What is Prop Firm Trading I hear you ask?

Well let me enlighten you because it’s my favourite subject at the moment!

Traditionally when you trade the financial markets you would trade with your own capital, which is probably why most people hesitate because of the risk of losing money, instead of making it! Lets face it, the latter can be an expensive exercise if you don’t know what you’re doing…

What if you could trade using someone elses money?

It would be a game changer wouldn't it? Have I piqued your interest? Let me proceed….

So traders have the opportunity to trade with prop firm capital. They act like a lender. They loan you capital, you trade it, they take a percentage, it’s a win win all round.

Surely there are rules and requirements? It sounds too good to be true! Yes, there are always rules! 

How it works is, for a small fee purchase a Trading Combine, now this can look like a one or two stage process, but ultimately the aim is for you to prove to the prop firm that you can trade before they give you their capital. 

So the main objective is to generate a certain percentage of profit within their guidelines and if you can reach that profit goal, a simulated funded account is granted to you for a small fee.

At the moment I am trading a $50K account, which is personal money I am not prepared to risk, but this opportunity gives me the chance to trade a larger amount with a larger profit share for a fraction of the price which most 6 and 7 figure traders do also - you now know why they’re 6 and 7 figure traders! $50K is only the beginning, these funded accounts go right up over a million dollars.

Depending on which prop firm you trade (as they all have their own requirements and rules) once you have hit their target in profits, you can make a withdrawal.
